What to do in Algarve?
Algarve is one of the most beautiful places on earth and has a big coast line. There are the white sandy beaches and some more rocky ones (the ones you see on postcards). Here are some of my favorite places outside of Faro
Praia Verde:
Near Castro Marim you'll find this hidden gem.
Cacela Velha:
Cross the Ria by boat and get to Paradise.
Tavira:
A charming city to visit. At night go to Cabanas de Tavira and try to eat at Noemia Restaurant! Amazing food, but if you can't make a reservation, prepare to wait in line. However the food is worth it!
You can visit the Island and go to the beach or try to find the gorgeous waterfall Pego do Inferno.
Praia do Barril:
You have to take a little train to get there and you'll love it! Very cute beach.
Fuseta:
You have to cross the Ria by boat also. Clear waters and white sand.
Olhão:
An old fisherman's village has transformed into a full of live town. By the river you will find lots of restaurants where you can eat shellfish and traditional cataplana. You can also go there and take the boat to Armona island.
Vilamoura:
You can walk on the marina, envy the rich&almost famous boats and eat gelato ;) or go to Praia da Falésia and go for a sunset party at No Solo Aqua.
Praia dos Olhos de Água:
Near Albufeira at the end of Praia da Falésia, you'll find this beautiful beach.
Praia do Xiringuito:
A secret beach in Galé. Not easy to find, you'll have to walk a trail near the 5 star hotel&michellin star restaurant Villa Joya. If you manage to find it, it will be love at first sight.
Praia dos Caneiros:
In Ferragudo, Lagoa you'll find this great beach with an equally great restaurant. You might also find José Mourinho, the Special One, there ;)
Praia do Caniço:
In Portimão, near Alvor you'll find this typical Mediterranean beach. You'll have to find the elevator to go down, but when the doors open on the cave you'll see the sand, the sea and the rocks and its magnificent.
Lagos:
In Lagos there are 3 places you'll have to go: Praia D. Ana, Praia do Camilo e Ponta da Piedade. Which one more beautiful than the other. In Ponta da Piedade you can make a tour through the caves.
Sagres:
A small town turned in a surfers paradise.
Beaches: Praia do Amado, Carrapateira e Carvalhal.
Bars: Dromedário and Discoteca Topas.
Odeceixe:
Almost in Alentejo, this is one of Algarve greatest beaches. If you're in a road trip mood, go from Odeceixe to Lisbon near the coast.
